How fast can you crack the World Code???

This is my first attempt at creating an incremental game. It's still in the alpha phase and actively being developed.
If it doesn't run properly in Firefox, please try a different browser (I haven't been able to solve the issue with Godot 4 yet).

Feel free to report bugs or share feedback here.

Thanks a lot – and have fun playing!

augh i just beat the game and then my progress is gone right as the timer increases :(

Are you referring to the extension of the countdown by adding centuries?
Yes, that does make the game longer. However, your progress shouldn't be lost because of it. The growing multipliers should still be active and continue to accelerate your progress.
I had previously finished the game in 1d10h — much faster than intended. Since the game is still in its alpha phase, there will likely be more balancing patches in the future. That’s why the centuries were added.
But don’t worry — there will soon be another way to speed up your progress ;)

no i lost my progress because i beat the game lol

Oh cool!

How long did it take you?

I want to add a highscore in the future so you can beat your own time

4 days, 10 hours!

Nice! Thats about the time span for the first playthrough  i am aiming for.

New Update (Alpha 0.6) is out now.
It's mostly a UI update and makes it a lot more practical for smartphone users to play.
Check the DevLog for details.

Oh, an idea i just had, what if the transcendence multiplier affected ransomware and money gain at lesser rates?

Yes, the RansomWare and Dollar production will get a boost as well. I already have an idea for that — maybe it will make it into the next update :)

radical

I feel like there isn't much to do after a short time, once getting 0.5 PW per click becomes irrelevant.

Maybe add some extra things to do to boost other things. They wouldn't be needed in any way, but doing them would make things faster.

Maybe add some lazy minigames to boost different things? Either as a base number like the clicking, or as a temporary buff. Maybe you can switch what the reward you want is?

As a random example, using your arrows or wasd to solve a simple random maze. Nothing longer than 5-10 seconds.

It would be cool if you could think of thematic minigames, things that would at least somewhat, represent the task you are 'helping' with. Like something that would represent 'phishing' in some way, or something that would represent writing or installing malware, etc. You know, for immersion, lol.

Thanks for your feedback.

Please keep in mind that this is an idle game. It's normal that there's not always something to do. The idea is more that you log in from time to time to buy more generators and then let the game progress automatically.
I do like your ideas for minigames though...

I've also thought about adding small minigames. However, this isn't a simple or quick task. That said, it's definitely possible that something like that might be added in the future.

percent should be indicitave of your current amount, as 200% at a times 2 multiplier only took me to times 4. which sounds correct, but 200% of 2 is 4, so it should've been 6

Thanks for your feedback. I changed it in the current Update (Alpha 0.6). The description should be clear now.

I feel like having an upgrade system could benefit this a lot. having it so there's like a upgrade that doubles server farm effectiveness or stuff like that.

Thank you very much for your feedback.
The game's flow balancing is still far from finalized and will continue to evolve in the future. My goal is for a casual gamer to complete the game in about a week, with a noticeable sense of progression throughout.
I'm still actively testing myself and share your impression that the pace needs to be sped up a bit.

Currently, the main progression mechanism works like this:
The multiplier after a MindUpdate increases password generation. This allows you to buy more email addresses, which in turn halves the blackmail costs. As a result, you can afford significantly more server farms.
Progression through server farms is not linear but occurs in bursts. After (currently 60) server farms, the countdown jumps from seconds to minutes, creating a massive boost with each additional farm.

I will add more upgrade options in the future.

As a quick fix, however, the number of server farms required for a time unit jump will be halved. Starting with version 0.5 (which i will hopefully release today), you’ll only need 30 server farms (instead of 60) to feel a significant boost.

It still needs to be tested whether this will require further adjustment.

i feel like the main issue there would moreso be the really slow progression of ransomware.

Gameplay and Critique ;)

Thank you very much for your review :)
It really helps me a lot to see what someone thinks when playing the game for the first time.
Tooltips for the buttons are next up on my list ;)

Does plus 1% for the prestige mean plus 1 multiplier or just 1%? it's written weirdly so it feels like it could be either.

100% prestige is +1 multiplier.
So 1% is only +0.01

Version: Alpha 0.4
fixed some bugs, implemented automatic saving, fixed final score screen, version number is now shown in the upper right corner

Genuine question now: which measure increases the prestige mechanism?

(+1)

Prestige works as follows:
Each time the countdown ticks down by one unit (minutes, hours, days, etc.), the "Transcendence this life" value increases. For a minute that passes, it increases only slightly; for an hour, it increases more, and so on.
After an "Upload Mind" reset, this then increases the multiplier for each password gain in the next life.

Serverfarm seems to change nothing...

never mind...got it...the timer goes faster...

Yup, the ultimate goal is to get the timer down to 0... preferably in under 999 years ;)
